Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Thundering Mantis (ranked 2103 p4p, 120 weight class) and Maggot Soup (ranked 1857 p4p, 106 weight class). Thundering Mantis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Maggot Soup's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Thundering Mantis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maggot Soup! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soup shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mantis defends it nicely. Mantis throws a quick counter kick to the body but Soup avoids it. Soup shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mantis pinned against the cage. Mantis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mantis has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Island Hammers Fight Camp in the buildup to the fight. Soup closes the distance and clinches up with Mantis, looking for a takedown. Soup pushes Mantis against the cage but Mantis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Thundering Mantis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maggot Soup. Soup fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mantis to the ground. Soup is now in Mantis's guard. Soup drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Soup jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mantis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Soup thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Soup has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Hammers Fight Camp. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soup stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mantis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Soup showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Soup is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Soup controls from within his opponent's guard. He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Soup seems to have locked his on tight now - Mantis screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Soup, as he picks up the win!
