Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Sirus Hughes (ranked 3561 p4p, 186 weight class) and Takeshi Sendou (ranked 22311 p4p, 303 weight class). Hughes's entrance music is Devil "Shinedown". A fine choice. Sendou is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Skillet - Feel Invincible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 6 losses; Sirus Hughes! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Takeshi Sendou! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Hughes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sendou pushes Hughes up against the ropes in a clinch. Sendou pulls guard successfully.
Hughes being controlled here momentarily. Hughes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sendou is keeping the position for now. Hughes wants to control from the top but Sendou keeps moving. Hughes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Sendou tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hughes tries to free his leg and advance position but Sendou is retaining full guard. Hughes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Hughes (3) vs (0) Sendou Sendou regains half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sendou tries to get to full guard but Hughes has control of the leg. Sendou has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Sendou trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes wants to work for an arm triangle but Sendou is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hughes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sendou does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hughes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sendou defends it well. Sendou wants to control but Hughes is keeping busy.
Hughes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sendou keeps working. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Hughes passes to side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Hughes (6) vs (0) Sendou Sendou gets back to half guard. Hughes trying to control from half guard but Sendou is working away. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sendou sees it coming and defends easily. Hughes seems to be working for a kimura but Sendou defends the submission attempt. Sendou looking for submissions off his back. Hughes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sendou defends it well. The fighters are battling for position here. Sendou manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sendou lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Sendou controlling the position easily from mount. Sendou goes for an armbar but Hughes turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hughes. Sendou looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hughes is one step ahead there. Hughes pushing down on Sendou's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Sendou is looking to control Hughes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sendou avoid being mounted? Hughes has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. That's four minutes gone in the round. Sendou tries to hold on but Hughes pushes him away. Sendou regains half guard. Hughes wants to take a breather but Sendou is having none of it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Sendou is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sendou has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hughes is working away from the top position though. Hughes is working for a submission of some sort.
Hughes has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sendou defend it? Hughes steps over the head and cranks it - Sendou is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hughes!
