Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Balboa (ranked 3779 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jese Gonzales (ranked 4077 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Igor Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jese Gonzales ! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Gonzales trying to control but Balboa postures up.
Gonzales works his way to full guard. Good work. Gonzales wants to control but Balboa passes easily into half guard.
Gonzales slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gonzales can do anything to dispel that myth. Gonzales wants to sweep here but Balboa controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzales is trying to control the position but Balboa postures up.
Balboa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gonzales manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Balboa has Gonzales in his guard.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gonzales trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Balboa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gonzales is one step ahead there.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Balboa keeping moving, preventing Gonzales from controlling successfully. Gonzales sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gonzales trying to control the position from guard on top but Balboa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Balboa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Balboa wants it to stay on the feet.
Gonzales closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Balboa did well to prevent Gonzales getting side control. Balboa is staying active underneath Gonzales , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gonzales is looking for a kimura but Balboa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gonzales to get the leverage. Gonzales wants to pass the guard but Balboa is defending well. It looks like Gonzales might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Balboa wants to get back to full guard. Balboa is working hard here to advance position. Gonzales controlling the action here.

Gonzales escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Balboa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Balboa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Balboa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gonzales has escaped the position, nice work there. Gonzales can't do much from the bottom here. Gonzales might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Balboa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Balboa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gonzales tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Balboa wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Igor Balboa will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Balboa checks a leg kick. Igor Balboa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Balboa is defended easily by Gonzales . Gonzales feints the counter takedown. Gonzales keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gonzales moves into the clinch. Gonzales is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Balboa pulls him back up using the underhooks. Balboa tries to pull guard but Gonzales holds him up against the cage and eventually Balboa drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Balboa wants to hit a switch here but Gonzales passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Balboa there! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzales takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gonzales tries to control but Balboa wriggling away.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Jese Gonzales has got the better of the ground game so far. Gonzales cracks Balboa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that's the end of the fight! Jese Gonzales comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gonzales has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
