Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kaiji Inoue (ranked 996 p4p, 126 weight class) and Lynton Miller (ranked 962 p4p, 121 weight class). Inoue comes to the cage accompanied by Ladies and Gentlemen (Saliva). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaiji Inoue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lynton Miller!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller keeps the fight on the outside.
Inoue scores with a jab to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Miller has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Miller drives through with a takedown into Inoue's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Inoue bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miller's guard.

Miller seems keen to control Inoue's posture.
Miller looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Inoue puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

A thudding body kick lands there by Inoue!
Miller swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Inoue looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Miller throws a right hand that Inoue ducks under and follows up with a left that Inoue also avoids with ease.
Inoue throws a jab when Miller was well out of range.
Kaiji Inoue is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Miller throws a body punch but Inoue moves out of range.
Miller throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Inoue wants to clinch.
Inoue moves in looking to clinch but Miller pushes him off.
Miller throws a shot from downtown. Inoue moves away and avoids it.
The fighters circling - Miller throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Miller missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Miller throws a strike but Inoue rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Miller working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Inoue wants to get back to full guard.

Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Miller is landing with some decent strikes but Inoue is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Inoue keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Miller cracks Inoue with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Excellent takedown into side control there by Miller.
Miller tries to score with some ground and pound. Inoue controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Miller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Inoue keeps working.
Miller has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Inoue seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Miller postures up in Inoue's guard and throws a big left but Inoue blocks it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Miller throws an elbow that misses. Inoue uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Miller's guard. Nice move by Inoue!

Miller shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Inoue is trying to defend but Miller finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Miller stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Inoue throws up his legs and catches Miller in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Miller tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Inoue! That came out of nowhere!
