Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Cormier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kedson Linhares!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linhares with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cormier to score with a decent uppercut.
Linhares is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cormier stuffs the takedown attempt from Linhares. Linhares gets slowly back to his feet.

Linhares has Cormier up against the cage in a clinch.
Cormier misses with a punch to the body.
Linhares tries to work over Cormier's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Cormier slows down the pace here.
Cormier lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Linhares wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jon Cormier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cormier scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Linhares doesn't seem bothered though.
Cormier connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Linhares's hands.

Cormier throws a leg kick which misses Linhares's front leg but catches the back leg as Linhares tries to avoid it.
Cormier leaves Linhares with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Cormier throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A chopping leg kick lands by Cormier.

Linhares closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cormier lands an elbow that stopped Linhares in his tracks for a moment.
Linhares wants to break free but Cormier has control.
Cormier throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Cormier pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Cormier.

Cormier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cormier throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cormier lands a nice hook to Linhares's body. Linhares takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Cormier lands with a nice body punch.
Linhares shoots in but Cormier avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jon Cormier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kedson Linhares.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Linhares is looking to break free of the clinch but Cormier has double underhooks.

Linhares throws a nice looking combination but Cormier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cormier rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Linhares moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Linhares closes the distance and clinches.

and Linhares counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Linhares avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cormier is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Linhares defends well.

Cormier is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cormier wants to control but Linhares passes easily into half guard.
Linhares prevents Cormier from standing back up.

Cormier makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Linhares closes the distance and clinches.
Linhares has Cormier pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cormier manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Linhares pushes Cormier up against the cage in a clinch.
Cormier is trying to break the clinch but Linhares has him pressed against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Linhares shoots for a double leg takedown but Cormier sprawls well. He's pushed Linhares's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Linhares or perhaps it was just good defense by Cormier, which made it look bad.

Linhares shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Linhares was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Linhares shoots in looking for a takedown but Cormier manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Linhares's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Linhares tries to counter with a clinch but Cormier shakes him off and moves away.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Linhares.

Cormier is looking to wear down Linhares with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Linhares gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Cormier gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
