Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Vazzappo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Dettman! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dettman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vazzappo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Vazzappo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dettman. Dettman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Vazzappo lands a jab-cross combination. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Vazzappo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vazzappo slips under a jab. Vazzappo connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Dettman! He's out on his feet! Vazzappo rushes in and drops Dettman with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tony Vazzappo! Tony Vazzappo tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
