Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Austin (ranked 2252 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyroon Gay (ranked 3023 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gay shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gay takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gay closes the distance and clinches up with Austin, looking for a takedown. Gay pushes Austin against the cage but Austin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gay gets tackled into the cage by Austin. Austin maintains the clinch.
Austin lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Gay tries to pull guard but Austin won't allow it.
Charlie Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyroon Gay.
Gay is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Austin lands a right hand.

Gay goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gay is trying to break the clinch but Austin has him pressed against the cage.
Austin lands an uppercut.
Austin lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gay backwards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Austin breaks the clinch.
Gay closes the distance and clinches up with Austin, looking for a takedown. Gay pushes Austin against the cage but Austin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Austin moves into the clinch.
Gay wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Austin has him pressed against the cage.

After the fight, Charlie Austin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
