Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Cathaway (ranked 2068 p4p, 0 weight class) and Floyd Maybetter (ranked 4049 p4p, 0 weight class). Maybetter is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Don't Stop The Funk. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Cathaway! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Floyd Maybetter! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cathaway blocks a jab. Maybetter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maybetter lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Cathaway moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Maybetter fails with a takedown attempt. Cathaway throws a leg kick that is checked and Maybetter counters with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maybetter connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cathaway. Cathaway circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Cathaway connects with an inside leg kick. Maybetter checks a leg kick. Cathaway leaves Maybetter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Maybetter looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A little feinted left hand from Cathaway on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Maybetter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jimmy Cathaway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Floyd Maybetter. Nice shot lands for Maybetter. Cathaway takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Maybetter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cathaway swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Maybetter cracks Cathaway with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jimmy Cathaway's cut is getting worse. Maybetter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cathaway throws out the jab. It seemed like Maybetter was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Cathaway attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Maybetter misses with an uppercut
and Cathaway counters with a good low kick that Maybetter was not able to check.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cathaway attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. A little jabbing left from Maybetter on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Maybetter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Maybetter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cathaway.
Cathaway scores with a jab. Maybetter is looking to clinch but Cathaway is avoiding it.
Cathaway lands a glancing blow to the side of Maybetter's head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cathaway takes a swing at Maybetter's ribcage but misses. Maybetter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Cathaway steps into range and cracks Maybetter with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Maybetter flops backwards and Cathaway dives into his guard looking to finish!
Maybetter is rocked! Cathaway wants to control from the top but Maybetter keeps moving. Maybetter is still in real trouble! Can Cathaway finish him? Cathaway stopping the sweep attempt from Maybetter. Maybetter looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Maybetter seems to have recovered his senses. Maybetter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cathaway is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cathaway trying to control but Maybetter is working from the bottom. Maybetter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cathaway defends it easily. Cathaway wants to control from the top but Maybetter keeps moving. Cathaway is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Maybetter trying to control the position.
Cathaway advances to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Maybetter manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Cathaway has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Maybetter has his feet on Cathaway's thighs here. He's pushed Cathaway off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Cathaway screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
