PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mister McNasty (ranked 197 p4p, 27 weight class) and Kvame Zulu (ranked 240 p4p, 36 weight class). Zulu has chosen Big Badaboom as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kvame Zulu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zulu throws a poor cross that misses

and McNasty moves into the clinch.

McNasty tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zulu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fight stays on the outside here - McNasty looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A close round but Kvame Zulu will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

McNasty throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McNasty takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
McNasty lands a really nice looking cross but Zulu seems unphased.

McNasty wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Zulu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Zulu there as he acknowledges the shot.
Zulu rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McNasty counters with a slapping leg kick.
McNasty shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Zulu walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
McNasty looks to throw the jab but Zulu is out of range.
A little jabbing left from Zulu on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Zulu throws a leg kick which misses McNasty's front leg but catches the back leg as McNasty tries to avoid it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mister McNasty will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Kvame Zulu's cut.
That's time! McNasty's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Zulu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to McNasty's calf.
Some bone on bone action there as McNasty checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
McNasty misses with a wild body shot.
Zulu replies with a solid counter kick to the body but McNasty blocks it well.
Zulu swings widly with a right hand
and McNasty connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Zulu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McNasty.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McNasty crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Zulu - the referee stops the clock and McNasty gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Zulu. McNasty manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Kvame Zulu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Zulu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
