Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Deertay (ranked 1146 p4p, 138 weight class) and Rita Stienis (ranked 3498 p4p, 311 weight class). Rita Stienis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joey Deertay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rita Stienis!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deertay throws a sloppy head kick and Stienis moves out of range easily.
Stienis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Stienis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Deertay decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stienis's guard.
Deertay looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Deertay works over Stienis with some ground and pound from guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Deertay is pushing down on Stienis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stienis is fighting to maintain full guard but Deertay has managed to sneak the leg through.
Deertay seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Deertay content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deertay seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stienis for as long as he can get away with.
Deertay moves into full mount! Stienis won't be happy about that!
Deertay controlling the pace for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Deertay dominating with strikes here.
Deertay postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stienis looks a forlorn figure.
Stienis is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deertay lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Stienis! Deertay sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Stienis and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Joey Deertay!
