PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Becker (ranked 4718 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rita Stienis (ranked 6630 p4p, 0 weight class). Rita Stienis told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Rita Stienis!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stienis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Becker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Stienis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Stienis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stienis holds on and takes a little breather.

Stienis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Becker moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Becker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Stienis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Becker is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Becker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Becker wants it to stay on the feet.

Stienis tries to clinch there but Becker circles away.
Becker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stienis counters with a body kick that stops Becker in his tracks momentarily.
Becker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stienis eats them both and turns towards Becker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No joy there for Becker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Stienis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Stienis looks like he wants to counter punch here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Stienis has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Becker regains guard immediately.
Stienis is standing up over Becker. Becker looks to escape but Stienis dives into side control.

Becker prevents Stienis from improving position.

Becker is pushing Stienis's head away, looking to escape. Stienis manages to hold on to the position though.
Becker is looking to get back to his feet here but Stienis is keeping cool and he's managed to take Becker's back.
Becker wants to get back to his feet.
Stienis punches the canvas rather than the man.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brian Becker showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Stienis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
