Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen Duffy (ranked 4544 p4p, 475 weight class) and Reese Tuwasa (ranked 4795 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Owen Duffy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reese Tuwasa! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tuwasa throws a nice looking combination but Duffy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tuwasa throws a body punch but Duffy moves out of range. Duffy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Reese Tuwasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Tuwasa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Duffy has a takedown stuffed. A combination from Tuwasa does no damage. Tuwasa fails to land with a series of punches.
Duffy seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Tuwasa misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Duffy.
Tuwasa misses the shot to the body. Tuwasa throws a big shot that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tuwasa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Duffy was well out of range. Poor timing from Tuwasa. A nice inside leg kick there by Duffy. That's going to slow Tuwasa down. Duffy shoots in but Tuwasa avoids the takedown attempt easily. No joy there for Tuwasa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Tuwasa. No joy for Duffy on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Owen Duffy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Duffy takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Duffy walks into a straight right hand from Tuwasa. Duffy with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tuwasa to score with a decent uppercut. Duffy shoots in for a takedown but Tuwasa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Duffy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tuwasa defends well and Duffy ends up having to push Tuwasa into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Tuwasa lands with an overhand left. Tuwasa cracks Duffy with a right hand to the side of the head. Duffy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Duffy lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Reese Tuwasa has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tuwasa lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Tuwasa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Duffy. Tuwasa tests Duffy's chin there with a solid looking shot. Tuwasa misses with a hook. Duffy ducked under it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duffy darts in looking for a takedown but Tuwasa gets double underhooks and turns Duffy into the cage. Tuwasa tries to bum rush Duffy with a series of wild strikes but Duffy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Duffy slips a jab and a cross from Tuwasa.
Duffy is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Tuwasa takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Duffy takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Duffy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Danga de danga de dang - Tuwasa scores with a four punch combination! Tuwasa leaves Duffy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Duffy is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duffy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Tuwasa scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Tuwasa lands with a nice combination. Duffy backs away looking to recover. Tuwasa lands a jab to the nose. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Duffy. Duffy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Reese Tuwasa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tuwasa lands a lovely overhand right. Tuwasa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Duffy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Tuwasa swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tuwasa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tuwasa scores with a one two! Duffy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Tuwasa lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Duffy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tuwasa! But no joy. Duffy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Tuwasa throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tuwasa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tuwasa misses with a straight left. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tuwasa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tuwasa looks to score with a jab to the body but Duffy is just out of range. Tuwasa takes a swing at Duffy's ribcage but misses. Duffy tries to counter by clinching up but Tuwasa breaks away and moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Reese Tuwasa dominated that round. The cut man is working on Reese Tuwasa's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tuwasa avoids the head kick by Duffy.
Duffy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tuwasa throws a right hand that Duffy ducks under and follows up with a left that Duffy also avoids with ease. Duffy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tuwasa swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tuwasa has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Tuwasa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Duffy circles away quickly and effectively. Tuwasa misses with a straight right. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Duffy might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Duffy fails to land the takedown. Tuwasa is looking for the big counter here. Owen Duffy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tuwasa throws a nice looking combination but Duffy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Duffy is looking for a counter combo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duffy shoots in looking for a takedown. Tuwasa tries to sprawl out of it but Duffy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tuwasa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Duffy shoots for a double leg takedown but Tuwasa sprawls well. He's pushed Duffy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tuwasa moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Tuwasa smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tuwasa closes the distance and lands a one-two. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Duffy dives in for a single leg takedown but Tuwasa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Tuwasa lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tuwasa.
Duffy is rocked! Tuwasa is pawing at Duffy, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Duffy's nose. Duffy is badly hurt! Tuwasa pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Duffy tries desperately to hold on but Tuwasa is relentless in his assault! As Duffy receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Tuwasa away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reese Tuwasa!
