Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Barraca (ranked 6281 p4p, 441 weight class) and Pioterus Kowalski (ranked 6106 p4p, 435 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Francisco Barraca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pioterus Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Barraca.
Kowalski swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Kowalski stuffs the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Kowalski as Barraca shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francisco Barraca. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Barraca really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kowalski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Barraca stacks Kowalski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Barraca!

Barraca shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kowalski but Kowalski pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Barraca misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Barraca tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kowalski swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Barraca tries to circle away but Kowalski has him pinned against the cage.
Kowalski is looking for a takedown.
Barraca is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kowalski pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Barraca wants a takedown but no success here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Barraca gets control of Kowalski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Barraca will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Barraca is breathing heavily.

Kowalski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kowalski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Francisco Barraca will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kowalski shoots in for a double leg but Barraca sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Barraca changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kowalski tries to avoid it but Barraca manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kowalski to the ground. Kowalski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Barraca has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kowalski has Barraca pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Barraca manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kowalski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kowalski wants it to stay on the feet.

Barraca tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kowalski swivels and escapes.

Kowalski has taken the fight to the clinch.
Barraca wants to stall.
Kowalski can't get the takedown.

Kowalski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barraca shoots for a takedown but Kowalski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kowalski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barraca as he avoids it easily.
Barraca swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Barraca forces Kowalski back against the cage and clinches.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Kowalski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kowalski gets tackled into the cage by Barraca. Barraca maintains the clinch.
Barraca has had enough of the clinch but Kowalski keeps him there for the moment.
Kowalski jumps guard but Barraca turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Barraca is trying to pull guard but Kowalski has him pressed against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Pioterus Kowalski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Barraca jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kowalski walks away with a smile on his face. Barraca gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Barraca shoots in for a takedown but Kowalski shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kowalski looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kowalski works to advance to full mount. Barraca defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Barraca wants to hold on but Kowalski pushes him away.
Kowalski is stalling here but it's allowed Barraca to get half guard.
Kowalski works his way into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Barraca sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pioterus Kowalski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kowalski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
