The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joshua goes for a double leg but Sherman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sherman continues to drive forward.
Joshua throws a combination that misses
and Sherman counters with a nice leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sherman.
Sherman lands a leg kick that knocks Joshua off balance momentarily.
Sherman misses with a kick to the body.
Sherman keeps the fight on the outside.

and Sherman counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Sherman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Joshua. That did some damage!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Joshua shoots for a takedown but Sherman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Joshua. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sherman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Joshua has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sherman throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Sherman lands a big head kick that sends Joshua tumbling to the mat! Sherman takes a step backwards and waves Joshua back to his feet - he wants the finish!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Joshua crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sherman - the referee stops the clock and Joshua gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sherman. Joshua manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Sherman lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Bill Sherman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Joshua takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Sherman explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Sherman buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Sherman! Joshua is out on his feet! Sherman rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Joshua is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Joshua is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
