Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sairanix Jr Lokren (ranked 4042 p4p, 207 weight class) and Robert Grandis (ranked 1093 p4p, 66 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Sairanix Jr Lokren !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Grandis!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lokren tries for a takedown but Grandis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Grandis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Lokren appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Grandis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Lokren feints and as Grandis raises his hands in defense, Lokren changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lokren shoots for a double leg takedown but Grandis sprawls well. He's pushed Lokren 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lokren shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grandis as he avoids it easily.

Lokren closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Grandis's guard.

Grandis seems keen to control Lokren 's posture.
Grandis wants to stand but Lokren is controlling the position.
Lokren won't allow Grandis to sweep him here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grandis can do anything to dispel that myth.
Grandis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Let's hope that Grandis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lokren drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Grandis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
You can see the frustration on Grandis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
