Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Lewis (ranked 1802 p4p, 243 weight class) and Teeth Ferret (ranked 1476 p4p, 196 weight class). Lewis comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Slippin. Kyle Lewis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Teeth Ferret!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Lewis.
Ferret dodges the punch combination from Lewis.
Ferret on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Lewis throws a jab when Ferret was well out of range.
Lewis cracks Ferret with a good jab.
A slow jab from Lewis misses its intended target.
Ferret feints the counter takedown.
Lewis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ferret counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Ferret got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lewis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ferret has managed to get both his arms back between Lewis's legs - danger averted.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lewis looks to land a right hand but Ferret moved out of range.
Ferret changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Kyle Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lewis misses with a body shot.
Lewis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ferret.
Ferret changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Lewis lands a lovely overhand right.

and Ferret counters with a single leg into guard. Lewis didn't expect that.
Ferret with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ferret postures up and lands a big shot to Lewis's brow.
Lewis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ferret throws a big right hand that misses.
Lewis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ferret keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lewis's head.

Ferret controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Ferret has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lewis misses with the combination.
Lewis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lewis misses the shot to the body.
Ferret drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lewis defends it well.

and Ferret counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ferret wants to pass the guard but Lewis is keeping the position.

Ferret wants to control from the top but Lewis keeps moving.

Ferret cracks Lewis with a solid left hand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ferret looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ferret's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kyle Lewis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lewis pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ferret back to the cage. Lewis follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
We've been told by Lewis's head coaches at Death Valley Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ferret takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Lewis looks to land a left hand but Ferret moved out of range nicely.
And Ferret tries to counter it with a takedown but Lewis pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Lewis tries to bum rush Ferret with a series of wild strikes but Ferret uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A telegraphed right hand from Lewis misses the target.
Lewis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ferret can do to turn this around?

Ferret is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Lewis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And Ferret tries to counter it with a takedown but Lewis pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lewis tests Ferret's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lewis connects with a crisp jab.
Lewis jabs Ferret to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Lewis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ferret.
Lewis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ferret feints the counter takedown.
Lewis throws a right hand that misses

and Ferret counters with a takedown into side control.
Lewis tries to bench press Ferret off him but Ferret keeps the position.
Lewis dodges the ground and pound from Ferret.
Ferret with the ground and pound but Lewis regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferret looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ferret works his way into full mount!
Ferret is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Ferret has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lewis's face.

Lewis is rocked!
Teeth Ferret has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ferret cracks Lewis with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Teeth Ferret!
Our winner, Teeth Ferret, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
