Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Raheem (ranked 7125 p4p, 528 weight class) and Nick Dormmamu (ranked 5219 p4p, 479 weight class). Abdul Raheem has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dormmamu has his takedown stuffed
and Raheem counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dormmamu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A little feinted left hand from Raheem on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Raheem fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dormmamu avoids it really well and circles away.

Dormmamu fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Raheem to the ground. Dormmamu is now in Raheem's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dormmamu closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Raheem quickly recovers to half guard.

Raheem manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dormmamu keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

You can see the frustration on Dormmamu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Raheem remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
