Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Latrobe Arundel (ranked 1 p4p, 1 weight class) and Akeen Coker (ranked 9 p4p, 3 weight class). Arundel comes to the cage accompanied by Shook Ones. Latrobe Arundel is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Latrobe Arundel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akeen Coker!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coker fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Arundel is out of range.
Coker misses with a low kick as Arundel jumps back.
Arundel has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
A telegraphed right hand from Arundel misses the target.
A shot to the body from Arundel misses
enabling Coker to counter with a crisp jab.
Coker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Arundel throws a jab when Coker was well out of range.
Coker was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Coker tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coker throws a quick inside leg kick.
Coker throws a body punch but Arundel moves out of range.
Arundel throws an overhand right that lands on Coker's shoulder, as Coker tries to avoid the shot.

Arundel connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Coker throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Arundel to counter with a crisp jab.
Arundel comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Arundel connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Nice defenses there by Coker.
Arundel looks to throw a body kick
and Coker counters with a slapping leg kick.
Arundel lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A lazy left from Coker finds it's target.
Arundel looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Coker avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Some bone on bone action there as Coker checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Arundel sets himself, and Coker steps forward looking for the clinch! Arundel avoids it this time.
Coker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Arundel.
Coker is trying to counter with his kicks.
Arundel misses with a looping right.
Arundel throws a looping overhand right but Coker ducks down to avoid it.

and Coker counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Arundel throws out a loose jab but Coker uses good head movement to avoid it.

Coker lands a nice shot to the body.
Arundel throws a body shot but no joy.

Arundel blocks a jab.
Arundel throws the left hand but Coker avoids the punch easily.
Coker staying out of range there.
Arundel backing away here, and Coker unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Coker throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Coker punishes Arundel's body with a nice straight punch.

Coker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Arundel lands with an uppercut that bounces Coker off the cage and back into range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Arundel throws out a loose jab but Coker uses good head movement to avoid it.
Arundel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coker manages to avoid it.
Coker wants to counter the offense by Arundel and move into the clinch position.
Coker scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Coker throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Arundel counters with a nice uppercut.
Coker throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Latrobe Arundel will probably get the nod.

Arundel throws the kick towards the body but Coker avoids it.
Coker replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Arundel blocks it well.

and Arundel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Coker tries to clinch but Arundel moves away
and Arundel counters with a straight right hand.
Arundel throws a poor cross that misses
and Coker counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Arundel thinking.
Coker fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Arundel on the side of the head.
Arundel scores with a kick to the midsection.
Coker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arundel was well out of range. Poor timing from Coker.
Coker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A quick step to the side and Arundel tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Coker. Arundel does a little dance to reset his feet.
And Arundel counters with a quick kick to the body but Coker blocks it.

Coker clinches.
Coker is working for takedown but Arundel is calmly controlling the position for now.
Arundel scores with a shoulder strike.
Coker softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coker blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Arundel lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Arundel manages to break the clinch.
Arundel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Arundel feints and then cracks Coker's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Coker down.

Coker darts in and clinches Arundel up against the cage.
Arundel is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Coker lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Arundel.
Coker throws a punch but it's blocked by Arundel.

Coker misses with some punches.
Coker misses with a punch on the inside.
Arundel tries to throw a body punch but Coker avoids it by throwing Arundel back against the cage.
Arundel lands with a light punch inside.
Coker is trying to pull guard but Arundel has him pressed against the cage.
Coker throws a punch but it's blocked by Arundel.

Arundel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Arundel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Arundel misses with an uppercut. Coker saw that one coming.
Coker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Coker pushes Arundel up against the cage in a clinch.

Arundel throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Cokers head.
Coker misses with a punch on the inside.

Coker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Arundel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Coker keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Arundel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Arundel just misses with a punch to the body.
Coker blocks a head kick by Arundel.
Coker counters with a body kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Coker lands with a right hand.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Arundel checks a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Akeen Coker will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Latrobe Arundel's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Arundel throws a lazy head kick
and Coker counters with a left to the body.
Arundel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

The fighters circle, before Arundel throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Coker's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Arundel lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
