Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Kline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Bearden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Kline! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rex Bearden! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bearden has a takedown stuffed. Bearden shoots for a takedown but Kline saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kline throws a hook but Bearden blocks it. Bearden fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nick Kline has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Bearden. Kline gets a takedown into half guard. Kline trying to control the pace. Kline is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bearden is trying to maintain the position but Kline is very close to passing his half guard. Bearden looking for submissions off his back. Bearden is looking to control Kline's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bearden avoid being mounted? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bearden looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kline is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bearden defends it well. Kline moves nicely into side control. Kline takes a little break here. Bearden wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kline wants to control but Bearden is keeping him busy. Kline working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Bearden manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Kline is pressing down on Bearden's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bearden is holding on for now. Bearden trying to control but Kline postures up.
Bearden wants to improve his position but Kline is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bearden looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bearden tries to get to full guard but Kline has control of the leg. Kline controlling the action here. Bearden is refusing to be controlled, as Kline sits in half guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bearden has his takedown stuffed and Kline counters with a stiff right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bearden ducks under a wild hook from Kline. Bearden goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Bearden pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bearden throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kline counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kline trying to mount his opponent but Bearden defends it. Kline passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bearden! Bearden tries to reverse the position but Kline maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bearden shoots and misses and Kline counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kline stands and throws Bearden's legs to the side, diving into side control. Bearden is looking to reverse the position. Kline is trying to get an arm triangle but Bearden is defending well. Kline is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bearden knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bearden tries to improve position but can't. Bearden struggling a bit here. Bearden is letting Kline control him for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kline is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bearden has escaped the position, nice work there. Kline wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bearden, who protects the arm well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kline working away. Bearden is looking for a sweep. Bearden looks to move to half guard but instead Kline has passed into mount! Damn! Kline avoids the attempt from Bearden to control. Bearden really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bearden is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kline looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Kline has hold of Bearden's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bearden manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bearden wants to hold on but Kline pushes him away. Kline fails to take his opponent's back. Bearden is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bearden is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bearden wants to hold on but Kline pushes him away. Kline has control of Bearden's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bearden regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kline moves to the back. Bearden tries to escape but Kline has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Nick Kline dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kline looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kline fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Kline shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bearden decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kline's guard. Bearden stands and steps away. Kline gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bearden doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kline counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bearden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bearden tries to clinch up. Bearden moves out of range as Kline strikes. Bearden doesn't manage to clinch there - Kline circles away.

Bearden shoots and misses and Kline decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bearden's guard. Bearden looking for a guillotine here but Kline defends easily.
Bearden takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bearden throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Kline is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kline pushes down on Bearden's leg and manages to get into half guard. Still in half guard, Kline seems content to control.

Bearden is trying to control but can't.
Bearden is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Kline pulls his head out easily. Kline uses his free foot to push down on Bearden's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bearden. Bearden has given up his back here. Will Kline look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Kline avoiding Bearden 's attempts to control his hands. Bearden defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kline's arms.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kline is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Bearden won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Kline off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Kline! Nick Kline is the new heavyweight champion!
