Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Mikhailov (ranked 3935 p4p, 152 weight class) and Lao Mung (ranked 4220 p4p, 163 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ivan Mikhailov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lao Mung! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mikhailov lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mung connects with a body shot that sends Mikhailov's belly button to the back. Mung throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Mung throws a head kick that misses. A jab from Mikhailov finds it's way through Mung's defenses. Mikhailov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mung. Mung throws a shot from downtown. Mikhailov moves away and avoids it. Mikhailov blocks a head kick by Mung.
Mikhailov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mung tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mikhailov swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mikhailov appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Mung throws a low kick but Mikhailov moves out of range easily. Mung rushes Mikhailov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Mikhailov working hard to break the clinch. Mikhailov holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Mung tries to stall but Mikhailov uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mikhailov pushes off an throws an elbow but Mung leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Mikhailov stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mung digs a right hand underneath Mikhailov's ribcage. Mikhailov let out a lung full of air as it connected. Mikhailov misses with an elbow strike.
Mikhailov's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Mikhailov misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mung.

Mung swings wildly with an uppercut but Mikhailov uses good head movement to avoid it. Mikhailov has Mung pressed against the cage.
Mung just leaning against Mikhailov, taking a breather. Mung prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mikhailov is trying to break the clinch but Mung is controlling him. Mikhailov with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Mung blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Mikhailov gets control of Mung's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mikhailov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Mung makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Mung trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mikhailov working a defensive guard here.
Mung lands a couple of decent looking shots. Mung with a flurry of punches that miss. Mikhailov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mung's guard. Mung looking to control.
Mung keeping moving, preventing Mikhailov from controlling successfully. Mung working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mikhailov. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mung striking off his back but it's not causing Mikhailov any problems. Mikhailov tries to free his leg and advance position but Mung is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Mikhailov will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mung throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mikhailov tries to counter with a takedown but Mung is quick to defend against it. Mung slips under a jab. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A right-left combo lands from Mikhailov. Mung gets tackled into the cage by Mikhailov. Mikhailov maintains the clinch. Mung stalling the fight.

Mung avoids a wild elbow strike from Mikhailov. Mikhailov wants to break free but Mung has control.
Mikhailov is trying to break the clinch but Mung has him pressed against the cage. We've been informed that Mung has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Mikhailov breaks the clinch.
Mikhailov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mung can do to turn this around? Mung misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mung throws the left hand but Mikhailov avoids the punch easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mung lands with a slapping head kick. Mikhailov instigates a clinch. Mung swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mung is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mikhailov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mung is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mikhailov to the mat. Mikhailov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Mung trying to control the position from guard on top but Mikhailov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mung postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mikhailov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mung, into his guard. Mung avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mikhailov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mikhailov stopping the sweep attempt from Mung. Mikhailov throws a big elbow that misses. Mikhailov wants to control from the top but Mung keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mikhailov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mung preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mikhailov controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mikhailov postures up.
Mikhailov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Mikhailov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mikhailov throws an elbow but Mung slips to the side and avoids it well. Mikhailov tries to advance to mount but can't. Mikhailov wants to control but Mung is keeping him busy. Mikhailov sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mung is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Ivan Mikhailov dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
An inside leg kick lands from Mung. Mikhailov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mikhailov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mung is looking for a sweep. Mikhailov working away. Mikhailov sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mung is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Mikhailov advances to full mount. Mung is trying desperately to improve position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mikhailov thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mung reaches up and holds on to Mikhailov to control the position. Mung wants to control but Mikhailov is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mung is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Mikhailov locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Mung is forced to tap!
