Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Ang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jake jone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ang comes into the arena with Long Way To The Top blaring out of the sound system. Rodney Ang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to jake jone's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Ang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, jake jone! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! jone feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ang is looking for a triangle but jone pushes his legs off easily.
Ang wants to sweep here but jone controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ang is working hard here to advance position. jone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ang works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ang looking to hit a scissor sweep but jone is one step ahead there. Ang not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ang connects with a solid leg kick. Ang darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. jone wants to improve his position but Ang is controlling well.
Ang tries to pass to full mount but jone defends it. Ang controlling the action here. jone won't allow Ang to pass to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ang is keen to just control but jone is a slippery customer. Ang looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. jone is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. jone throws a hook to the side of Ang's head but Ang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. jone gets a takedown into half guard. Ang gets back to full guard.
Ang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ang is looking to advance position but jone won't allow it. jone is trying to get back to full guard. Ang is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! jone looks gassed! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ang cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ang wants to control the pace but jone is squirming around nicely. Ang with good strikes from the mount here! Ang lands with some strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ang working for a submission but jone is keeping him at bay. Ang trying to control but jone is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ang scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ang has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for jone! Ang is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. jone can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
jone is squirming around, avoiding Ang's attempts to control the action. Ang lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ang swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and jone is now in Ang's guard. A big mistake from Ang there, giving up the dominant position! Ang trying to keep a closed guard but jone is proving a slippery customer.
Ang wants to sweep here but jone controlling him for the moment. Rodney Ang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ang wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ang wants to stand up but jone is controlling him. Ang looking to hit a scissor sweep but jone is one step ahead there.

Ang fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with jone, pushing him back against the cage. Ang tries for a takedown. No joy.
jone lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Ang's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Ang pulls guard successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ang loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ang showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ang throws a big right hand that misses. Ang advances to half guard. Ang is looking to advance position but jone won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodney Ang dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
jone with a poor takedown and Ang counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ang connects with a nice short shot to jone's temple. Ang wants to take a breather but jone is having none of it. Ang wants to pass to mount but jone is defending the position. Ang works his foot free and advances to mount. Ang content just to control the position here. Ang landing punches. jone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ang breaks from jone's wrist control and lands an elbow. jone is squirming around, avoiding Ang's attempts to control the action. Ang has isolated one of jone's arms. jone looking to fight him off but Ang twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
