Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Silent Bob (ranked 2580 p4p, 306 weight class) and Roy Gaston (ranked 1658 p4p, 213 weight class). Gaston is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: You Can Do It. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
29 - 17 - 2, fighting out of New York, Silent Bob! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Gaston! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bob circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bob fails to land with a series of punches.
Gaston looks like he wants to counter punch here. Gaston tries a head kick but it misses.
Gaston ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bob moves away. Bob avoids the head kick by Gaston.
Bob throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Gaston misses with a kick to the body.
Bob lands with a straight right. Gaston didn't see that one coming. Bob takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Gaston fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bob manages to avoid it. Gaston tries to close the distance and clinch but Bob swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bob throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Gaston counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Gaston lands a right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gaston prevents a body shot from Bob. Bob blocking some punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Gaston fails to land. Gaston tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bob just stands there and leans against the cage. Bob is looking to break free of the clinch but Gaston has double underhooks. Gaston is pushing Bob up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Bob misses with a body punch.
Gaston tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A nice right hand lands inside from Gaston. Gaston lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bob backwards. Gaston tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bob's elbow. Gaston lands a left hand.
Gaston keeps control of Bob as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gaston stalling the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaston jumps guard but Bob turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Bob blocks an uppercut.
Gaston goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gaston creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Bob prevents a body shot from Gaston. Bob is working Gaston over against the cage. Gaston misses with a body punch.
Bob scores with an uppercut up the middle. Gaston misses with a punch on the inside.
Gaston presses Bob against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A body shot lands from Bob.
Bob lands on the inside with an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gaston lands a shoulder strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gaston is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Bob goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Gaston sitting in guard here, content to control. Bob throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gaston uses it to pass to side control.
Gaston staying calm. Gaston connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bob some visible discomfort.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bob gets back to half guard. Bob is trying to maintain the position but Gaston is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bob looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bob moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bob can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gaston controls the pace. Bob looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Gaston dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bob looks to land a combination but Gaston avoids it well. Gaston fails in his attempt to clinch. Bob delivers a nice body kick. Gaston lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gaston jabs Bob to the body, keeping him at a distance. Bob looks to land a combination but Gaston avoids it well. Gaston throws a lazy right hand but Bob sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Bob walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Gaston tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bob was well out of range. Poor timing from Gaston. Bob tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Gaston manages to circle out of the way. Bob throws a poor cross that misses
and Gaston counters with a nice uppercut. Gaston looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Bob throws a jab but it's blocked by Gaston. Bob tests Gaston's chin there with a solid looking shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bob turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Bob lands with a nice body punch. Gaston rushes Bob and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gaston lands with a light punch inside. Bob misses with a shot to the kidneys.

The referee is keeping an eye on Gaston - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The crowd are getting on Gaston's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Gaston lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Bob has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Gaston throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bobs head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gaston lands on the inside with an uppercut. Gaston throws a punch but it's blocked by Bob. A nice glancing elbow lands by Gaston. Gaston throws a punch but it's blocked by Bob. Bob works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gaston throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Bob wants to control from the top but Gaston keeps moving. Bob trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bob scoring with some ground and pound. Gaston utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bob is working Gaston over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bob being controlled here momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Gaston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Gaston paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Bob throws a lazy right hand but Gaston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gaston throws a series of punches but Bob moves out of range. Gaston walks into a left hand. Bob misses the jab. Gaston throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bob stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Bob misses with a low kick.
A big left from Bob misses. Gaston staying out of range there. Gaston has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bob swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Gaston misses with a body shot.

Gaston stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Roy Gaston seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Gaston pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Gaston lands on the inside with an uppercut. Silent Bob has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Bob pulls guard. Gaston controlling from the top position. Gaston sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bob's guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gaston connects with a nice short shot to Bob's temple. Still in half guard, Gaston seems content to control. Bob wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gaston is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gaston is trying to control the action in half guard but Bob is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bob is looking for a sweep. Gaston is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bob makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bob. Silent Bob overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gaston pushing down on Bob's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Gaston sitting and controlling from the half guard. Bob looking for submissions off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Gaston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Gaston winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
