The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dee replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Cruz Jr blocks it well.
Dee tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cruz Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Inspektor Dee has been cut.
Dee pushes Cruz Jr up against the cage in a clinch.
Cruz Jr manages to break the clinch.
Dee misses with a body shot.
Cruz Jr appears to be looking for a big counter.
Dee fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cruz Jr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Dee tries a quick counter leg kick but Cruz Jr is wise to it.

and Cruz Jr makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

enabling Cruz Jr to counter with a crisp jab.

Dee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cruz Jr paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Dee throws a leg kick but Cruz Jr checks it.

Dee is looking to clinch but Cruz Jr is avoiding it.

Dee connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Cruz Jr throws a quick counter head kick but Dee was just out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dee crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cruz Jr - the referee stops the clock and Dee gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cruz Jr. Dee manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Dee fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cruz Jr is out of range.
Cruz Jr jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Dee uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Dee gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Cruz Jr tries to circle away but Dee has him pinned against the cage.

Cruz Jr tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dee's elbow.
Dee using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cruz Jr has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Dee lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

and Cruz Jr scores with a counter punch that sends Dee to the canvas! Cruz Jr smells blood - he's punishing Dee with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Dee has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jorge Cruz Jr!
A relieved looking Jorge Cruz Jr thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
