With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Julyfeather steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lewis.
Julyfeather scores with a decent looking hook.
Some wild striking there from Lewis.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lewis.
Lewis has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Julyfeather finds it's way round the side to connect with Lewis's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lewis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Julyfeather is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Lewis.

Lewis closes the distance and clinches.
Lewis tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Julyfeather avoids it.
Lewis tries to pull guard but Julyfeather holds him up against the cage and eventually Lewis drops back down to his feet.

Lewis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Julyfeather after a bit of a struggle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lewis is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Lewis is trying to control the action in half guard but Julyfeather is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lewis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Julyfeather appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

A close round but Daniel Lewis will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Julyfeather connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lewis momentarily.

Julyfeather is looking to wear down Lewis with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Lewis shoots in and drives through. Julyfeather sprawls well.

Julyfeather throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lewis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lewis shoots in looking for a takedown. Julyfeather tries to sprawl out of it but Lewis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Julyfeather manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lewis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lewis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A head kick misses from Lewis.
Lewis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Julyfeather tries to avoid it but Lewis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Julyfeather to the ground. Julyfeather escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Julyfeather as he avoids it easily.

Julyfeather moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Julyfeather feints a jab promting Lewis to slip. Julyfeather then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lewis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Lewis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Julyfeather to score with a decent uppercut.
Julyfeather clobbers Lewis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Julyfeather dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Julyfeather comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lewis has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Lewis wants to clinch.
Julyfeather connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Julyfeather lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lewis throws a body kick that misses.
Nice uppercut there from Julyfeather.
Julyfeather's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Julyfeather duly obliges.
Lewis walks into a stiff left hand from Julyfeather.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lewis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lewis shoots in but Julyfeather avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Julyfeather defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lewis.
Lewis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
