PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sandor Clegane (ranked 5032 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Punchy (ranked 3215 p4p, 0 weight class). Clegane comes to the cage accompanied by Gladiator. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clegane thows a body kick. Punchy tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Punchy takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Punchy looks to land a left hand but Clegane moved out of range nicely.

Punchy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Clegane to the mat! Clegane manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Clegane working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Punchy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Punchy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Clegane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Punchy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clegane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Punchy defends well.

Punchy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Clegane is trying to control the position but Punchy postures up.
Punchy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Clegane's head.

Clegane had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Punchy defends it easily.

Clegane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Punchy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Clegane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Clegane has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Punchy doesn't defend quickly enough and Clegane has managed to lock this one up! Can Punchy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Clegane on a fantastic submission victory.
