Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rinaldi (ranked 2465 p4p, 289 weight class) and John Edmonds (ranked 1476 p4p, 185 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Edmonds's choice of entrance music: Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rinaldi just misses with a punch to the body.
Rinaldi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rinaldi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Edmonds uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rinaldi.
Rinaldi lands a nice hook to Edmonds's body. Edmonds takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rinaldi lands a jab to the nose.
Rinaldi throws a one two combo.
Edmonds connects with a right hand. Rinaldi shakes it off.
We've been informed that Edmonds has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rinaldi throws a combination that misses
and Edmonds cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Edmonds ducks under a wild hook from Rinaldi.
Rinaldi avoids the head kick by Edmonds.
Rinaldi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Rinaldi swings for the body but Edmonds moves out of range.
Rinaldi throws a big shot that misses.
Rinaldi sizes up Edmonds with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Edmonds looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Edmonds looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Rinaldi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Edmonds's best efforts.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edmonds trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rinaldi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Edmonds engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Rinaldi wants to sweep here but Edmonds controlling him for the moment.
Rinaldi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Edmonds trying to control the position from guard on top but Rinaldi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Edmonds misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rinaldi throws a body shot but no joy.
Edmonds slips a jab from Rinaldi.
Edmonds scores with a punch to the head.
Rinaldi cracks Edmonds with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Edmonds throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rinaldi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Edmonds is in Rinaldi's guard.
Edmonds tries to free his leg and advance position but Rinaldi is retaining full guard.
Rinaldi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Rinaldi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edmonds can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rinaldi pulls Edmonds in close to his closed guard and prevents Edmonds from doing any damage or advancing position.

Edmonds looking to improve position, pressing down on Rinaldi's thigh with his hand. Rinaldi seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Edmonds paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Edmonds's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Rinaldi picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
