Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Lawrence (ranked 4074 p4p, 406 weight class) and Mick Mentrennel (ranked 5347 p4p, 470 weight class). Albert Lawrence had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert Lawrence!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mick Mentrennel!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Lawrence.
Mentrennel goes for a double leg but Lawrence avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lawrence continues to drive forward.
Lawrence appears to be looking for a big counter.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mentrennel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lawrence has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lawrence and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Lawrence looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mentrennel shoots for a double leg takedown but Lawrence sprawls well. He's pushed Mentrennel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mentrennel tries to clinch but Lawrence moves out of range.
As Mentrennel backs away, Lawrence returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Mentrennel fails with the takedown
and Lawrence holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Albert Lawrence has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Mentrennel.
Lawrence is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mentrennel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Mentrennel is trying to break the clinch but Lawrence has him pressed against the cage.
Lawrence pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mentrennel shoots in for a takedown but Lawrence shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lawrence clinches up with Mentrennel and pushes him back against the cage.
Lawrence is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Lawrence breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lawrence shoots in looking for a takedown but Mentrennel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lawrence's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mentrennel wants to counter the offense by Lawrence and move into the clinch position.

and Lawrence counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Lawrence avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mentrennel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lawrence defends it nicely.
Lawrence throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mentrennel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lawrence as he avoids it easily.
Mentrennel throws a push kick but Lawrence slaps the foot to one side.
Lawrence went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lawrence checks a leg kick.
Lawrence half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Lawrence shoots in for a double leg but Mentrennel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lawrence looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mentrennel is fending him off so far but Lawrence persists. Nope, Mentrennel circles away and we're back to standing.

Mentrennel stuffs the takedown attempt from Lawrence. Lawrence gets slowly back to his feet.
Mentrennel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lawrence swivels and escapes.
Lawrence moves out of range of the body kick.
Mentrennel misses with a combination
and Lawrence counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lawrence.

Lawrence looking for a triangle here. Mentrennel is fighting it but it looks tight! Lawrence pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Mentrennel is tapping out - this one is all over!
