Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Torres (ranked 419 p4p, 59 weight class) and Derek Erwin (ranked 667 p4p, 91 weight class). Torres's entrance music is Juaneco y su Combo - Mujer Hilandera. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Derek Erwin!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erwin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Good exchange - Erwin coming out on top.
Erwin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Torres momentarily.
Erwin throws a lazy uppercut
and Torres counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nice defenses there by Torres.
Torres was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Erwin misses with a lunging right hand
and Torres connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Erwin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Torres manages to avoid it.
Erwin takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Derek Erwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Torres paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Torres scores with a hook to the body. Erwin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Torres looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Erwin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Torres finds it's way round the side to connect with Erwin's head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Erwin. Torres does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Erwin misses with a wild body shot.
Torres went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Torres tests Erwin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Erwin with a jab.
Erwin thuds his right hand into Torres's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Erwin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Erwin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Torres.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Erwin! But no joy.
Erwin misses with a looping right.
A slow jab from Erwin misses its intended target.
Erwin misses the body punch
letting Torres counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Torres lands a lovely overhand right.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Torres keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Erwin.
Derek Erwin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Erwin throws a lazy right hand but Torres sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Erwin scores with a nice strike.
Erwin slips a straight right by Torres.
A shot to the body from Erwin misses
and Torres counters with a left and a right... And another left! Erwin is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
