Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Mani (ranked 4652 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jock Weisley (ranked 4769 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Mani! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jock Weisley! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Weisley drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mani gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mani fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Mani tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Weisley just stands there and leans against the cage. Weisley putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mani in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Mani is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mani is trying to break free. Weisley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Weisley goes for a takedown attempt but Mani pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Weisley moves away from the strike by Mani. Weisley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mani as he avoids it easily. Jacob Mani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jock Weisley. Weisley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mani is fending him off so far but Weisley persists. Nope, Mani circles away and we're back to standing. Mani was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Mani doesn't manage to clinch there - Weisley circles away.
Mani shoots in but no luck this time. Weisley shoots in and drives through. Mani sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mani throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Weisley cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nice takedown defense from Mani. No joy for Weisley on that attempt. Mani throws a sloppy head kick and Weisley counters with a three punch combo that has Mani backing up. Mani nods at Weisley to acknowledge the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Weisley dives in and grabs Mani's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mani pushes down on Weisley's head and hops out. Mani misses with the body kick and Weisley counters by clinching up. Weisley landing knees to the body.
Mani is trying to maintain a safe position but Weisley gets an underhook and turns Mani into the cage. Mani looking to slow down the pace here. Mani can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weisley pulls guard effortlessly. Mani wants to stand but Weisley is controlling his posture from full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Weisley is on top in guard.

Mani is breathing heavily. Weisley showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Let's hope that Weisley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weisley with a flurry of punches that miss. Weisley is pushing down on Mani's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mani is fighting to maintain full guard but Weisley has managed to sneak the leg through. Weisley decides to stand up. Mani closes the distance looking to clinch and Weisley counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Mani moves to clinch but Weisley breaks away and Weisley counters with a two punch combo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Weisley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mani works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Weisley slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The ground and pound from Weisley seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Mani knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Weisley on the ground. Weisley controlling the position. An elbow from Weisley crashes against the mat.
Mani might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Weisley lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weisley happy to just control the position for now. Weisley throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Weisley stands up and we're back to a striking position. Mani doesn't succeed with the takedown and Weisley counters with a three punch combo that has Mani backing up. Mani nods at Weisley to acknowledge the strikes. Weisley feints and as Mani raises his hands in defense, Weisley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Weisley throwing strikes from guard but Mani blocks nicely. Weisley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Jock Weisley has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Weisley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mani is working an open guard so Weisley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jock Weisley seems to be getting the better of the standup. Weisley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mani as he avoids it easily. Weisley has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Weisley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mani tries to avoid it but Weisley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mani to the ground. Mani escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Weisley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mani throws a big counter combination but Weisley scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Weisley takes the fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Weisley gets control of Mani's arms and successfully pulls guard. Weisley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Weisley managing to control the position. Weisley is continuing to stall. Weisley keeping moving, preventing Mani from controlling successfully. Weisley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mani manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weisley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Weisley gets to his feet. Mani looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Weisley shoots in but no luck this time. Weisley scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. You can see the frustration on Mani's face as Weisley controls the position. Weisley misses with the ground and pound. Mani dodges the ground and pound from Weisley. Weisley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Weisley moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Jock Weisley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Weisley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
