Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Minerva (ranked 1068 p4p, 140 weight class) and Matt Black (ranked 2057 p4p, 215 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Minerva might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Make The Money. Black has chosen Manu Chao - Mr. Bobby as his entrance music. Matt Black has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Scott Minerva's chin.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Black showed some decent athleticism there.
Black keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Minerva regains full guard. Nicely done.
Minerva looking for a sweep. Not yet Minerva, not yet.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Black working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Black throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Minerva has momentary wrist control but Black slips an elbow through the middle.
Black wants to control from the top but Minerva keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black being controlled here momentarily.
Minerva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Minerva is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Black trying to control but Minerva is working from the bottom.
Minerva tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Minerva scores with a crisp jab that stopped Black in his tracks.
It looks like Matt Black has been cut.
Minerva throws out a powerful jab.
Minerva slips under a jab from Black.
Black looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Black wants to control from the top but Minerva keeps moving.
Black throws a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Minerva wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Minerva is looking to stand up but Black isn't so interested in that idea.
Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Black drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Minerva dives on top into guard.
Minerva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Minerva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Minerva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Minerva wants to pass the guard but Black is keeping the position.
Minerva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Minerva continues to stall.
Minerva wanted to stand there but Black had control of the position.
Minerva postures up in Black's guard and throws a big left but Black blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Minerva stays in close to Black's body and controls the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Black defending well as Minerva loads up on a big left hand.
Minerva lands a nice shot to the body.
Some wild striking there from Minerva.
Black changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Black shoots and misses
and Minerva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Minerva connects with the punch.
Black dips to his left and cracks Minerva with an uppercut!
Minerva falls off balance throwing a combination
and Black counters with a stiff right hand.
Black looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Scott Minerva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Minerva moves into the clinch.
Minerva lands an elbow just above Black 's eye.
Minerva lands a shoulder strike.
Black tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Minerva digs a right hand underneath Black's ribcage. Black let out a lung full of air as it connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Minerva dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Matt Black's cut.
That's time! Minerva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Black has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Minerva finds it's way round the side to connect with Black's head.
That has opened up Matt Black's cut even more.
Black is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Black has a takedown stuffed.
Black just misses with a punch to the body.
Minerva scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Minerva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Black.
Black slips under a jab from Minerva.
Black misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Black walks straight into a right hand from Minerva - that's dropped him! Minerva jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Black from any more punishment! Black complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Scott Minerva!
