Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lesnar (ranked 5194 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phy Ter (ranked 4033 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Lesnar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Phy Ter! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ter slaps away a takedown attempt from Lesnar, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ter's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ter's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Lesnar on the wrong end of a nice hook. A left and a right from Ter both land. Nice combination. Ter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lesnar circles away quickly and effectively. Lesnar dodges the punch combination from Ter.
Ter lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Lesnar shoots in and bounces Ter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lesnar stands and throws Ter's legs to the side, diving into side control. Ter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lesnar trying to control the action but Ter is working from the bottom. Lesnar tries to advance to mount but can't. Lesnar trying to control the position but Ter is working away. Lesnar moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ter stops Lesnar from passing to mount. Lesnar has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Ter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lesnar could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Lesnar gets caught napping as Ter dives in and scores a takedown. Lesnar manages to retain guard. Ter wants to stand but Lesnar is controlling his posture from full guard. Ter postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lesnar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lesnar is striking off his back. Ter thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Lesnar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lesnar is pressing down on Ter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ter wanted to stand there but Lesnar had control of the position. Lesnar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lesnar tries to get out of the position. Ter gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Ter throws a one two combo.
Ter misses with a series of wild punches.
Lesnar is looking to counter with head kicks. Ter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lesnar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ter tries to clinch up but Lesnar circles away and keeps his distance. Lesnar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ter clinches. Lesnar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ter pushes Lesnar off and gets back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phy Ter dominated that round. That's time! Lesnar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ter tries to bum rush Lesnar with a series of wild strikes but Lesnar uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ter misses with a series of wild punches.
Lesnar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ter tries to avoid it but Lesnar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ter to the ground. Ter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lesnar gets caught napping as Ter dives in and scores a takedown. Lesnar manages to retain guard. Ter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ter preventing the sweep. Ter decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A nice combination there by Ter.
A combination from Ter does no damage. This has been an exciting period of action! Ter throws a right and a left that both miss. Ter lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Ter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ter fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ter scores with a one two! Lesnar had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Phy Ter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ter is breathing heavily. Lesnar wants to clinch up but Ter keeps it at a distance. Ter is looking for the big counter here. Lesnar fails with a takedown attempt. Lesnar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ter napping and manages to drive through into side control! Phy Ter has got the better of the ground game so far. Ter pushes Lesnar away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lesnar gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Lesnar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ter has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lesnar but great work by Ter. Lesnar is trying to control Ter's posture but Ter avoids it. Ter stands up and beckons Lesnar to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ter lands a two punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. No luck for Lesnar with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Lesnar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lesnar swats away the attempt to clinch by Ter. Ter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lesnar trying to hold on to Ter's head to control him but Ter postures up.
Ter decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Ter.
Lesnar gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lesnar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lesnar stuffs the takedown. Lesnar closes the distance and pushes Ter back into the cage. Ter is trying to push Lesnar away but Lesnar has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Ter wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ter throws a combination. Lesnar tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Ter gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A jab from Ter finds it's way through Lesnar's defenses. This has been an exciting period of action! Ter has managed to clinch.

Lesnar tries for a takedown but Ter circles away easily and Ter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A counter left hand to the body from Lesnar misses its target. Ter tries to bum rush Lesnar with a series of wild strikes but Lesnar uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lesnar swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Phy Ter seems to be getting the better of the standup. Ter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lesnar eats them both and turns towards Ter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Ter blocks a head kick by Lesnar.
Ter lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Lesnar throws out a leg kick but Ter moves out of range and Lesnar only half commits. Lesnar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phy Ter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ter gets a double leg takedown into Lesnar's guard. Lesnar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lesnar looking to control.
Ter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lesnar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lesnar is on top in guard.
Lesnar with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Lesnar stands and steps away. Ter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nice takedown defense from Ter. No joy for Lesnar on that attempt. The crowd cheers as Ter lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lesnar doesn't seem phased though. Lesnar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ter as he jumps to the side. Ter moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ter swinging wildly here.
Ter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lesnar. Ter throws a counter combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Lesnar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lesnar takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Ter throws a good cross that connects.
Ter is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Ter fails to land with a series of punches.

Lesnar shoots in looking for a takedown but Ter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lesnar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lesnar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ter is in Lesnar's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ter stands and steps away. Lesnar gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Ter lands with a nice combination. Lesnar backs away looking to recover.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lesnar eats them both and turns towards Ter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Ter throws a one two combo.
Ter misses with a few strikes there.
Lesnar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ter avoids it really well and circles away. Ter tests Lesnar's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lesnar looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Nice shot by Ter. Ter has Lesnar up against the cage in a clinch.
Lesnar tries to pull guard but Ter holds him up against the cage and eventually Lesnar drops back down to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ter prevents Lesnar from breaking the clinch. Ter breaks the clinch.
Danga de danga de dang - Ter scores with a four punch combination! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ter misses with a two punch combination.

John Lesnar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Phy Ter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ter gets the takedown into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Phy Ter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
