Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Billel Kassib!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hefty Jack!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jack.

Kassib sneaks out the side door and pushes Jack away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Kassib looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kassib throws a body kick that misses

and Jack counters with a single leg into guard. Kassib didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kassib wants to stand and escape but Jack is having none of it.
Jack looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Let's hope that Jack has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kassib is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jack looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kassib has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Jack misses with a punch to the body.

Jack has hold of one of Kassib's legs. Kassib is fighting the takedown attempt but Jack gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Jack seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jack's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Kassib wants to stand but Jack is controlling the position.
Jack is in close to Kassib's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kassib wants to stand up but Jack is controlling him.
Kassib knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jack on the ground.

Jack slips a nice elbow through Kassib's hands, connecting with Kassib's forehead.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jack lands a nice short elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jack connects with a nice short shot to Kassib's temple.
Jack is taking a breather. Kassib says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hefty Jack will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kassib's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Jack counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Jack has Kassib pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jack pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kassib tumbling to the mat - Jack dives into Kassib's guard.
Jack has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jack controls from within his opponent's guard.
Jack lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kassib is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jack scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Jack.
Jack drops an elbow to the side of Kassib's head.
Jack is nestled in close to Kassib, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hefty Jack has got the better of the ground game so far.

Still in half guard, Jack seems content to control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hefty Jack showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Kassib fails to land with a series of punches.

and Jack decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kassib's guard.
Jack is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kassib takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Jack's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
