Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tashiro Sugawara (ranked 2666 p4p, 300 weight class) and Toson Yada (ranked 2788 p4p, 311 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tashiro Sugawara!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yada gets the takedown into side control.
Yada working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Sugawara is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Sugawara is looking for a sweep. Yada is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Yada is trying to control. Sugawara wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Sugawara lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Sugawara stands and throws Yada's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sugawara is working for a kimura but Yada is defending it quite comfortably.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yada is on top in guard.

Yada drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Yada jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sugawara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yada gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Yada wants to control from the top but Sugawara keeps moving.

Yada tries to free his leg and advance position but Sugawara is retaining full guard.

Sugawara manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yada manages to get himself to full guard.
Yada looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sugawara is one step ahead there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sugawara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yada swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A close round but Toson Yada will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Sloppy strikes from Yada. Those never looked like landing.
Sugawara throws a big counter combination but Yada scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Sugawara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yada shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sugawara napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sugawara sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Yada trying to control the position from guard on top but Sugawara is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sugawara is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Toson Yada has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sugawara seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Yada does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sugawara seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Yada for as long as he can get away with.
Sugawara is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
