Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ukko Reinikainen!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Banks pushes Reinikainen up against the cage in a clinch.
Banks is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Banks is pressed up against the cage. Reinikainen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Banks down to the mat. Banks avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Reinikainen stuffs the takedown attempt from Banks. Banks gets slowly back to his feet.

Banks tries to get up but Reinikainen was controlling his body and he's reversed into guard.

Banks wants the takedown. Reinikainen is fighting it off but Banks persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Reinikainen's guard against the cage.

Banks goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Banks darts in and clinches Reinikainen up against the cage.
Banks has had enough of the clinch but Reinikainen keeps him there for the moment.

Banks looks to land a combination. Reinikainen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Banks throws a leg kick but Reinikainen sees it coming and moves out of range.

Banks moves in looking to clinch but Reinikainen pushes him off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

No joy there for Banks, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Banks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Banks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
