Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Bloodsport (ranked 3181 p4p, 346 weight class) and Shane Stead (ranked 4153 p4p, 415 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Bloodsport!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Stead!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stead throws a shot from downtown. Bloodsport moves away and avoids it.
Stead jabs Bloodsport right on the nose. Bloodsport blinks but takes it well.
Bloodsport blocks a jab.
Nice body punch from Stead.
Bloodsport ducks under a wild hook from Stead.
Stead lands a lovely overhand right.
Stead misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bloodsport.
Bloodsport tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Stead manages to circle out of the way.
Bloodsport doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stead counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Stead throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stead lands a nice looking body shot.
Bloodsport fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck for Bloodsport with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Bloodsport. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bloodsport takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bloodsport needs to keep his hands up - Stead had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Mark Bloodsport has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stead fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bloodsport looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bloodsport tries for a takedown but Stead sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Stead feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bloodsport seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Stead really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bloodsport. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bloodsport looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stead distracts Bloodsport with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Stead stands and throws Bloodsport's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Check out the look on Stead's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Bloodsport is trying to buck Stead off.
Bloodsport tries to improve position but can't.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Stead is trying to control the action in half guard but Bloodsport is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Bloodsport has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stead is working away from the top position though.
Stead winds up and cracks Bloodsport with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Stead is looking to stall here but Bloodsport recovers full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stead trying to control but Bloodsport is working from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stead's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Stead lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bloodsport is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stead trying to hold on to Bloodsport's head to control him but Bloodsport postures up.

Stead might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bloodsport haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Stead wants to improve his position but Bloodsport is controlling well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bloodsport is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stead has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bloodsport wants to control but Stead is keeping him busy.

Bloodsport stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Stead scores with a jab to the head.
Nice jab there from Stead.
Bloodsport throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stead's waist but Stead gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bloodsport off to one side.
Stead appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Bloodsport is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stead sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bloodsport tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stead manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Stead shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bloodsport manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bloodsport has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Stead off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bloodsport tries to clinch there but Stead circles away.
Bloodsport closes the distance and clinches up with Stead, looking for a takedown. Bloodsport pushes Stead against the cage but Stead circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bloodsport gets a clinch.
Stead misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bloodsport throws a punch but it's blocked by Stead.
Bloodsport connects with a knee to the head.
Bloodsport misses with a knee to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stead.

Stead breaks the clinch.
Stead jabs Bloodsport right on the nose. Bloodsport blinks but takes it well.
Stead connects with a crisp jab.

Stead closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bloodsport's guard.
Stead must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Stead makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Stead landing some decent shots from guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Stead dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mark Bloodsport's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Stead swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bloodsport.
The fighters circling - Stead throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bloodsport wants to clinch up but Stead keeps it at a distance.
Stead throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bloodsport tries for a takedown but Stead sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bloodsport fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bloodsport shoots in but Stead avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bloodsport fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stead avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Bloodsport. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bloodsport closes the distance and clinches.

Stead manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bloodsport's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Bloodsport is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stead is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stead has escaped and now he's on top!

Bloodsport is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stead is controlling him.

Stead lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Stead won't allow Bloodsport to sweep him here.
Bloodsport manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stead manages to get himself to full guard.

Bloodsport decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stead, up you get!
Stead throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Stead tests Bloodsport's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Stead has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stead is defended easily by Bloodsport.
Bloodsport tries to clinch but Stead moves out of range.
Bloodsport shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stead as he jumps to the side.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bloodsport fails with an attempt to clinch.
Stead throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stead dips to his left and cracks Bloodsport with an uppercut!
Bloodsport has a takedown stuffed.
Stead unleashes a big counter combination but Bloodsport bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Bloodsport doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Stead. No joy for Bloodsport on that attempt.
Stead wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Stead closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stead working Bloodsport over with strikes.
Stead lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Stead working over Bloodsport with some ground and pound. Bloodsport looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.


Bloodsport is rocked!
Stead scores with a big shot! Bloodsport's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Bloodsport! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Stead!
A very excited looking Shane Stead made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
