Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Vasques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). CJ Henderson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Victor Vasques! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CJ Henderson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasques shoots in looking for a takedown. Henderson tries to sprawl out of it but Vasques keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Henderson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Horrible takedown by Vasques or perhaps it was just good defense by Henderson which made him look bad. Vasques looks for a takedown but Henderson sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Vasques. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vasques looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasques does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Vasques wants to clinch up but Henderson keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasques throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. No luck for Vasques with that takedown attempt. Vasques fails with an attempt to clinch.

Vasques closes the distance and clinches up with Henderson, looking for a takedown. Vasques pushes Henderson against the cage but Henderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Vasques throws a series of punches but Henderson moves out of range. Henderson keeps the fight on the outside. Vasques is breathing heavily. Vasques misses with a series of wild punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson keeps the fight on the outside. Vasques throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Henderson's waist but Henderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vasques off to one side. Henderson moves out of range of the body kick. Vasques tries to clinch but Henderson moves out of range. Henderson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vasques counters with a nice kick to the body. Vasques misses with a double jab
and Henderson counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Vasques down! Henderson is looking to finish but Vasques is intelligently defending himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henderson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Let's hope that Henderson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Henderson wants to pass the guard but Vasques is keeping the position. Henderson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Vasques is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Henderson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Vasques escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Henderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Henderson advances position into side control! Henderson controls the position. Henderson has knee on belly and moves into mount. Henderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Henderson fails to move to back control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
CJ Henderson dominated that round. The cut man is working on CJ Henderson's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Vasques with a poor takedown and Henderson counters with a one-two to the body. Vasques plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Vasques tries for a takedown but Henderson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Victor Vasques seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Vasques. Henderson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vasques fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Vasques. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Henderson misses with a double jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henderson throws a right and a left that both miss. Vasques will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Henderson throws a combination that misses so Vasques counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Henderson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Vasques decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Vasques lands strikes from half guard. Henderson is looking for a sweep. Vasques is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Henderson trying to control from the bottom.

Victor Vasques dominated that second round. The cut man is working on CJ Henderson's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Vasques counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Henderson's guard now. Henderson pulls Vasques in close to prevent any damage. Vasques is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Vasques is looking to work some ground and pound but Henderson has wrist control. Henderson working a defensive guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vasques lands a couple of decent looking shots. Henderson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Henderson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Vasques is staying active underneath Henderson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Henderson prevents Vasques from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Vasques flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Vasques shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Henderson counters with a left and a right that stings Vasques. Henderson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vasques counters with a nice double leg into side control. Henderson won't be happy with that. Vasques working away. Vasques is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Henderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasques misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasques working away. Henderson controls the position for a moment. Henderson is trying to get back to half guard. Vasques is trying to get an arm triangle but Henderson is defending well. Vasques lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Henderson down.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vasques with a lazy takedown attempt and Henderson counters with a series of strikes. Vasques will be more careful next time no doubt. Vasques shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Henderson as he avoids it easily. Vasques dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Vasques tries to clinch but Henderson moves out of range. Henderson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vasques counters with a takedown into side control. Henderson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Henderson is trying to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Victor Vasques showed his dominance in that final round. I think Vasques has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
