Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Purcell!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping body kick lands there for Purcell.

Purcell has managed to clinch.
Lee changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Purcell fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Purcell scores with a jab to the body.
Lee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Purcell counters with a body kick.
Lee staying out of range there.
Lee doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Purcell counters with a head kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Purcell cracks the inside of Lee's front leg.
Lee definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Purcell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lee on the side of the head.

Purcell rushes Lee and presses him up against the cage.
Lee changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Purcell fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Purcell closes the distance and pushes Lee back into the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Purcell is trying to trip Lee. He has hold of a leg but Lee is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Purcell persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Purcell works over Lee with some ground and pound from guard.
Lee seems keen to control Purcell's posture.
Lee is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Purcell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Purcell postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.
Purcell trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lee is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Purcell throwing strikes but missing.

Lee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Purcell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Purcell stands up over Lee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Purcell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Lee isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Purcell stacks Lee on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Purcell!
Lee tries to bench press Purcell off him but Purcell keeps the position.
Lee taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Purcell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lee has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lee takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Purcell is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Purcell has hold of Lee's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Lee tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Purcell cranks the arm and Lee screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Lee, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Justin Purcell!
Justin Purcell seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
