PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darko Milicic (ranked 2332 p4p, 279 weight class) and Kyle Lewis (ranked 2334 p4p, 280 weight class). Milicic comes into the arena with THCF - GDE SI POŠ'O blaring out of the sound system. Lewis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: DMX - Slippin. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Milicic connects with the punch.
Milicic has been working on his boxing with his coaches at MONEY TEAM!!! in the buildup to the fight.
Lewis fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lewis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Milicic counters with a three punch combo that has Lewis backing up. Lewis nods at Milicic to acknowledge the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Milicic seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Milicic misses with the combination.
Lewis looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Lewis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Milicic sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Milicic ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Milicic scores with a jab. Lewis acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Lewis lands with a straight right. Milicic didn't see that one coming.

Milicic instigates a clinch.

Lewis has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Milicic avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Milicic is looking to break free of the clinch but Lewis has double underhooks.

Milicic's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lewis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Milicic is fending him off so far but Lewis persists. Nope, Milicic circles away and we're back to standing.
Darko Milicic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Lewis.
Milicic misses with a two punch combination.
Milicic throws a series of punches but Lewis avoids them all with ease.
Lewis takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Milicic is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Milicic gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lewis prevents Milicic from getting back to his feet.
Lewis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lewis tries to score with some ground and pound. Milicic controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Lewis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Lewis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Milicic, who protects the arm well.
Lewis controls the position.
Milicic parries the strikes from Lewis easily there. Lewis is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Milicic to escape.
Lewis is staying tight to Milicic's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lewis lands a decent elbow from side control.
Lewis controls the position.
Milicic is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lewis is controlling him well.
Lewis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lewis wants to control but Milicic is keeping him busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lewis shoots in and drives through. Milicic sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lewis.
Milicic works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Jab, jab by Lewis - just one landing.
Milicic ducks under a wild hook from Lewis.
Milicic fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Milicic scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Lewis is rocked!
Milicic ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Lewis out cold! The fight is over!

A relieved looking Darko Milicic thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
