Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rodrigo Batista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miron Miletic!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miletic displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Batista.
No luck for Miletic with that takedown attempt.

and Miletic counters with a body kick that stops Batista in his tracks momentarily.
Miletic dodges the punch combination from Batista.
Batista takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Miletic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Batista closes the distance and clinches up with Miletic, looking for a takedown. Batista pushes Miletic against the cage but Miletic circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Miletic lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Batista dives in for a single leg takedown but Miletic sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Miletic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Batista doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Batista manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Miletic is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Batista is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Batista's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Batista fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Miletic looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Miletic thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Batista if he has to take too many more of those.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Batista manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Miletic manages to get himself to full guard.

Miletic isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Batista stacks Miletic on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Batista!

Batista has the hooks in. Miletic is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Batista slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Batista, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
