Valdes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. a lo cubano kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdes staying out of range there.
Valdes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Lamprey tries to clinch up but Valdes circles away and keeps his distance.
Lamprey fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lamprey closes the distance and clinches.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Valdes has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lamprey regains guard immediately.

Lamprey definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lamprey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valdes on the ground.

Valdes is pushing down on Lamprey's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lamprey is fighting to maintain full guard but Valdes has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lamprey is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Valdes is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lamprey defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Valdes has got one arm under Lamprey's chin. This could be trouble... Lamprey trying to control the other hand but Valdes gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Lamprey has tapped out! The fight is over!
