PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haka Motu (ranked 4110 p4p, 0 weight class) and Croc Bot (ranked 4348 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Haka Motu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Croc Bot!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bot needs to keep his hands up - Motu had a free shot at his head there.
Motu getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Motu throws a series of punches but Bot moves out of range.
Bot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Motu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Motu misses with a two punch combination.
A little jabbing left from Bot on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Motu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bot keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Bot is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Motu pulls his head out easily.
Bot is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Motu working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bot manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Motu landing some decent shots from guard.

Bot working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Motu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bot is tightening it up a little... Motu has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Motu reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Motu taps out! Nice BJJ there by Bot!
