Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Simpson (ranked 2508 p4p, 0 weight class) and Etienne Gueguen (ranked 2339 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Gueguen enables Simpson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gueguen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gueguen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Simpson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gueguen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Simpson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Gueguen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Simpson sprawls well initially but Gueguen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Gueguen is looking to work his way around to Simpson's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Simpson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Simpson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Gueguen is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Simpson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Simpson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Gueguen has control of Simpson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Simpson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Etienne Gueguen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gueguen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Simpson stacks Gueguen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Simpson!

Well Gueguen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
