Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Durden (ranked 1571 p4p, 194 weight class) and Ray Malenko (ranked 1260 p4p, 157 weight class). Durden comes into the arena with Where Is My Mind blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Malenko's choice of entrance music: Skrr computers . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Durden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Ray Malenko! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malenko with a poor takedown and Durden counters with a nice uppercut. Malenko moves forwards but Durden connects with a nice, crisp jab. Malenko misses with a few strikes there.
Durden digs a good body shot into Malenko's ribs. Durden throws a quick inside leg kick. Malenko swings widly with a right hand
and Durden counters with a nice body kick.
Durden dips to his left and cracks Malenko with an uppercut! Durden has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Malenko. Durden went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Durden tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Malenko is able to avoid easily. Durden lands a slapping body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action! Durden lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Malenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durden cracks the inside of Malenko's front leg. Malenko fails with a takedown attempt. Durden appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Tyler Durden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Malenko. Durden scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Durden showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Malenko.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Malenko tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Durden counters with an inside leg kick. Durden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A good leg kick by Durden. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Malenko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Durden lands with a good body shot. Malenko pushes Durden up against the ropes in a clinch. Durden misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Durden gets through Malenko's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durden lands a left hand that snaps the head of Malenko backwards. Durden blocks an uppercut.
Durden blocks a body shot from Malenko. Malenko doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Durden swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Malenko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Durden lands on the inside with an uppercut. Durden scores with a shot to the side of Malenko's head. Malenko can't find room to land a body shot as Durden controls the action.
Malenko misses with a hook to the ribs.
Durden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Malenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Durden.

A looping hook to the body misses from Malenko. Durden does a little dance to reset his feet. Durden throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A jab from Durden finds it's way through Malenko's defenses. Durden misses with a low kick.
Malenko moves to clinch but Durden breaks away and Durden counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Malenko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Malenko gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Durden connects with a body shot that sends Malenko's belly button to the back. Malenko takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Malenko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Malenko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Malenko chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Durden can pounce on him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyler Durden dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Malenko clinches. Durden goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Malenko gets through Durden's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short right from Malenko. Durden is looking to break free of the clinch but Malenko has double underhooks. A head punch on the inside from Malenko fails to land. Durden breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Durden misses with a looping left. Durden throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Malenko throws out a counter right but Durden avoids it with no problem. Malenko throws a hook to the side of Durden's head but Durden sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Malenko staying out of range there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Durden gets caught flat footed, as Malenko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Malenko wants to control from the top but Durden keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malenko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Durden dives on top into guard. Malenko wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Durden wants to pass the guard but Malenko is keeping the position. Durden stands and throws Malenko's legs to the side, diving into side control. Malenko is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Malenko looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Malenko is looking for a sweep. Durden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Malenko is trying to maintain the position but Durden is very close to passing his half guard. Durden is pressing down on Malenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Malenko is holding on for now. Malenko is looking to control Durden's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Malenko avoid being mounted? Durden is looking to take a break and control but Malenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Durden wants to take a breather but Malenko is having none of it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Malenko actively working from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Malenko tries to clinch but Durden moves out of range. Malenko thows a left - swing and a miss! Malenko thows a left - swing and a miss! Durden connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Danga de danga de dang - Durden scores with a four punch combination! Durden looks to land a right hand but Malenko moved out of range. Malenko digs a good hook to Durden's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Durden throws a leg kick which misses Malenko's front leg but catches the back leg as Malenko tries to avoid it. Malenko feints a jab promting Durden to slip. Malenko then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Durden slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Malenko waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Durden. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ray Malenko will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Durden throws a shot from downtown. Malenko moves away and avoids it. Oooooh!!! Malenko has knocked Durden down with a huge combo! Malenko steps away and waves a wobbly Durden back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Durden is rocked! Durden ducks under a wild hook from Malenko. Durden throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Durden avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Malenko throws a lazy right hand but Durden sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Durden throws a looping overhand right but Malenko ducks down to avoid it. Malenko appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Malenko on the wrong end of a nice jab. Durden loads up on a big right hand but Malenko slips the punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malenko dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Malenko scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malenko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Durden but Durden pushes him off and we're back to square one. Malenko misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Durden.
Durden lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Durden lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Durden misses with an attempted mid kick.
Malenko throws a counter combo. Durden throws a body punch but Malenko moves out of range. Malenko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Malenko jabs Durden to the body, keeping him at a distance. Malenko avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Durden tries to keep at a distance but Malenko has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malenko can't find room to land a body shot as Durden controls the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Durden keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Malenko's efforts to push away. Durden swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Durden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Malenko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Malenko showed some decent athleticism there. Durden is controlling Malenko's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Malenko is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Durden has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Malenko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Durden wants to control but Malenko is keeping busy.
Durden moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Malenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Durden swivels though and keeps the full guard. Malenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Durden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Ray Malenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Malenko has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by split decision... Ray Malenko! A relieved looking Ray Malenko thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
