Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Grey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Teshima Shigochiyo!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grey defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shigochiyo.
Shigochiyo fails to land the takedown.
A big right from Grey misses.
Shigochiyo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Jake Grey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Teshima Shigochiyo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grey swings widly with a right hand
and Shigochiyo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Shigochiyo is working for a kimura but Grey is defending it quite comfortably.

Shigochiyo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Shigochiyo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Grey is just riding it out for now. Shigochiyo eventually gives up the hold.
