PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kree P Krawlee (ranked 1760 p4p, 207 weight class) and Angel Morales (ranked 1564 p4p, 192 weight class). Krawlee comes to the cage accompanied by Sail. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morales moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A jab lands there for Krawlee.
Morales scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Krawlee walks into a straight right hand from Morales.
Krawlee jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It seemed like Morales was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Krawlee has a takedown stuffed.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krawlee.

Morales lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Morales ducks right into an uppercut from Krawlee.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Krawlee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Morales looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Morales tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Krawlee wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Krawlee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morales is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Krawlee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morales keeps working.

Krawlee wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Morales, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morales felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Krawlee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Krawlee has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Morales escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Morales!

Angel Morales spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
