Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Akinwande (ranked 135 p4p, 17 weight class) and Phil Coleman (ranked 227 p4p, 31 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henry Akinwande!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akinwande forces Coleman back against the cage and clinches.
Akinwande is stalling here.
Akinwande is pushing Coleman up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Coleman is looking to control Akinwande's arms but Akinwande gets an underhook and turns him. Now Coleman has his back to the cage.
Akinwande lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Coleman backwards.
Akinwande misses with a short punch on the inside.
Akinwande tries a body shot but Coleman blocks it.
Coleman just leaning against Akinwande, taking a breather.
Akinwande digs a right hand underneath Coleman's ribcage. Coleman let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Akinwande lands a nice shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akinwande tries to throw a body punch but Coleman avoids it by throwing Akinwande back against the cage.

Coleman's coach down at Xtramarital Floating Shingles was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Coleman's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Akinwande tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Coleman trying to control the position but instead, Akinwande has worked for underhooks and has pushed Coleman into the cage.
Coleman is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Akinwande swings wildly with an uppercut but Coleman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Akinwande manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Akinwande blocks a body shot from Coleman.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Akinwande takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Coleman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Akinwande just stands there and leans against the cage.
Henry Akinwande has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Coleman.
Coleman throws a head punch that misses.
Akinwande makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Akinwande tries to work over Coleman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Come on Akinwande - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Akinwande is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Akinwande's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Akinwande for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Akinwande wanted to stand there but Coleman had control of the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Akinwande dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Coleman takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Akinwande clobbers Coleman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Akinwande tries to close the distance and clinch but Coleman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Coleman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Akinwande defends it well.
Coleman defending well as Akinwande loads up on a big left hand.
Coleman throws a body shot but no joy.
Akinwande throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Akinwande connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Coleman tumbling to the canvas! Akinwande pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Coleman was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Henry Akinwande!
