Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koji Ueno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Egil Wiik! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ueno punishes Wiik's body with a nice straight punch. Koji Ueno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Ueno. No joy for Wiik on that attempt. Ueno tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ueno gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wiik to score an easy takedown into full guard. Wiik in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wiik thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Wiik in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wiik missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ueno knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wiik on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wiik postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Wiik looks winded! Ueno keeping moving, preventing Wiik from controlling successfully. Wiik has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wiik is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Wiik postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wiik preventing the sweep. Wiik looking to pass the guard. Wiik drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wiik jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Wiik has gone for a leg lock! Ueno slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wiik's guard. Wiik has momentary wrist control but Ueno slips an elbow through the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ueno trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ueno trying to control but Wiik is working from the bottom. Wiik should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ueno tries to stand but Wiik is controlling from the bottom. Wiik throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ueno connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Egil Wiik has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ueno moves into range and clinches up with Wiik. Ueno putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Wiik in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Ueno lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Ueno lands a knee to the body.

Ueno drops Wiik with a big knee straight up the middle! Wiik is covering up against the ropes but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

That has opened up Egil Wiik's cut even more. We've been informed that Wiik has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ueno drops Wiik with a naaaaasty hook - Wiik is in real trouble here! Ueno dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
