Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trey DeVell (ranked 3471 p4p, 302 weight class) and Geroge Turner (ranked 1416 p4p, 156 weight class). Geroge Turner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trey DeVell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Geroge Turner!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVell looks to land a combination. Turner sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Geroge Turner has been cut.

Turner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging DeVell to the ground. Turner is now in DeVell's guard.
DeVell is adopting a defensive guard.
Turner's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Turner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeVell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Turner trying to control but DeVell is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. DeVell is keeping the position for now.
DeVell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

DeVell is trying to keep Turner in close.
Turner looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
DeVell steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Turner.
DeVell throws a right and a left that Turner avoids nicely.
DeVell ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Turner closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. DeVell did well to prevent Turner getting side control.

DeVell manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Turner keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Turner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. DeVell just stands there and leans against the cage.
Turner jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as DeVell walks away with a smile on his face. Turner gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Turner tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but DeVell defends well and Turner ends up having to push DeVell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Trey DeVell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Geroge Turner.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
DeVell throws a series of punches but Turner avoids them all with ease.
DeVell lands a right hook to the body.
Turner looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
DeVell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
DeVell lands a really nice looking cross but Turner seems unphased.

Turner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
DeVell is trying to control the position but Turner postures up.
DeVell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Turner is one step ahead there.
Turner throws a big right hand that misses.
Turner is stalling in the full guard.
DeVell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if DeVell tries to get out of the position.
It looks like Turner might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Turner throwing strikes from guard but DeVell blocks nicely.

Turner's corner is telling him to maintain position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Turner trying to control the position from guard on top but DeVell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
We've been told by DeVell's head coaches at Blood & Sand that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
DeVell lands a jab to the nose.

Turner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Turner is staying tight to DeVell's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Turner lands a decent elbow from side control.
A control attempt from DeVell but he's now mounted!

DeVell tries to hold on but Turner pushes him away.
Turner looking to control but DeVell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trey DeVell dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Geroge Turner's cut.
That's time! DeVell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


DeVell fails to land with a series of punches.
DeVell moves out of range as Turner strikes.
DeVell misses with a wild combination.
DeVell tries to bum rush Turner with a series of wild strikes but Turner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Turner shoots in for a takedown but DeVell shows good takedown defense.
Turner takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Turner misses with an uppercut. DeVell saw that one coming.
DeVell moves out of range of the leg kick from Turner.
DeVell misses with the combination.
DeVell stuns Turner with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DeVell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and DeVell wants it to stay on the feet.
DeVell ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Turner lands with a hook. DeVell tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Turner fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Trey DeVell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Geroge Turner.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DeVell ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

DeVell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turner can do to turn this around?
DeVell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and DeVell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
DeVell throws a nice looking combination but Turner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Turner changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Geroge Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turner shoots in but no luck this time.
Turner loads up on a big right hand but DeVell slips the punch.
Turner avoids a punch combination nicely.
DeVell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Turner changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Turner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Turner lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Turner in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. DeVell tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Turner!
