Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sven Melander (ranked 4629 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Adam (ranked 4499 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Adam!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Melander looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Adam!

Adam parries the strikes from Melander easily there. Melander is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Adam to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Melander is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Adam is just riding it out for now. Melander eventually gives up the hold.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Melander darts in looking for a takedown but Adam gets double underhooks and turns Melander into the cage.
Adam throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Melander looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Adam has managed to clinch.
Melander tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Adam's elbow.

Melander has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Adam uses from the top position.

Sven Melander overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Melander bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Melander is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Adam to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Adam shrugs it off.
Adam is trying to escape the mount.

Melander has hold of Adam's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Adam manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Melander wants to take his opponent's back but Adam doesn't allow it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sven Melander.
I think Melander has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
