Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Maya Chigg (ranked 3343 p4p, 74 weight class) and Juanito Cortez (ranked 1657 p4p, 37 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cortez's choice of entrance music: $$$. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chigg sizes up Cortez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Cortez throws a leg kick but Chigg sees it coming and moves out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Chigg.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cortez throws a push kick but Chigg slaps the foot to one side.
Cortez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Chigg pushes Cortez up against the ropes in a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Chigg.
Chigg really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cortez wants to get back to striking at distance but Chigg won't allow it.

Cortez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cortez tried to score with a low kick but Chigg checks it.
Cortez throws a leg kick but Chigg sees it coming and moves out of range.
Chigg fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cortez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Chigg just misses with a punch to the body.
Chigg checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Cortez takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cortez takes one to the side of the head.

Chigg tries to close the distance and clinch but Cortez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cortez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Chigg.
Cortez throws a right hand that misses
and Chigg cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cortez throws a leg kick but Chigg moved away.
Cortez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chigg scores with a jab to the jaw.

Chigg swings for the body but Cortez moves out of range.
Chigg cracks Cortez with a good jab.
A slow jab from Cortez misses its intended target.
Decent striking displayed by Cortez there.
Chigg scores with a head kick. Cortez tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Chigg chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Cortez tries to land a front kick but Chigg steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Chigg displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cortez throws out the jab.
Cortez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cortez throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cortez.

Chigg ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

A head kick misses from Cortez.

Chigg throws out a head kick that Cortez doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Cortez crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Cortez's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
Chigg jabs at Cortez's body.
Cortez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chigg sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Chigg checks a leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cortez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Chigg has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Chigg and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Cortez misses the jab.
Chigg throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cortez.
Chigg uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cortez.
An inside leg kick lands from Cortez.
Cortez wants to slow Chigg down by chopping away at his legs.
Chigg lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Cortez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Cortez gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cortez is still on wobbly legs! Can Chigg finish him?

Chigg cracks Cortez with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Cortez is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Cortez is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Cortez could not beat the count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Maya Chigg!
